What Does It Do?
Simply put, loop recording means your dash cam never stops recording. Instead of saving one very long video file, it splits your driving footage into small chunks, usually 1 minute, 3 minutes, or 5 minutes long .
When your memory card (SD card) becomes full, the dash cam automatically goes back and deletes the oldest clips to make room for the new ones . It works like a conveyor belt: new food comes in, and the oldest food drops off.
Why Do We Need This?
Without loop recording, your dash cam would fill up the memory card and simply stop recording. You would have to remember to take the card out and delete files manually every few days just to keep using it .
With loop recording enabled, the process is hands-free. Whether you are driving across the city or across the country, the camera continuously records over the old, unimportant footage. This ensures that the latest driving moments are always captured without you needing to touch a button .
Is My Important Footage Safe?
Many drivers worry: "If the camera deletes old videos, will it delete a crash recording?"
The answer is usually no. Modern dash cams (including the models we manufacture) are smart. If the built-in G-sensor detects a sudden collision or hard braking, it automatically "locks" that specific file .
This protects it from being overwritten by the loop recording function, keeping the evidence safe .
Setting It Up
On most of our devices, you can choose the length of the clips. We generally recommend setting it to 3 minutes. This creates files that are easy to manage and share, but not so short that they clutter your card .
